A wizarding photograph is a picture of a person or scene recorded by a camera and developed in a special potion which allows the figures depicted to move (CS6). The photograph usually captures the spirit of its subjects in the moment it was taken. When Harry Potter is forced to take a picture with Gilderoy Lockhart at Flourish and Blotts (CS4), his photographic self later refused to enter the frame of the photo, despite Lockhart's best efforts (CS7).

Colin Creevey is renowned for carrying around his camera, trying to take photographs of Harry Potter. It is this camera which saves his life when faced with the Basilisk.
