Wizard chess is the same as Muggle chess with the only difference that in wizard chess, the pieces move at their own accord and even destroy each other.
Ron Weasley is exceptionally good at playing this game, however brilliant Hermione is, she loses at chess quite often (PS13). He, along with Harry and Hermione had to play a life-sized wizard chess in order to be able to get to the Sorcerer's Stone (PS16).
This article has to be revised, because it is strange.
