Wit-Sharpening Potion
From UnknowableWiki
The Wit-Sharpening Potion is a potion that contains ground scarab beetles, ginger roots, armadillo bile and possibly other unknown ingredients.
Harry Potter and his classmates learned to brew this potion in their fourth year at Hogwarts in March 1995, shortly after the second task of the Triwizard Tournament. The class was disrupted by three events:
- Severus Snape found Harry reading Rita Skeeter's article "Harry Potter's Secret Heartache" under the desk and spitefully read it aloud to the class.
- Snape wrongly accused Harry of stealing potion ingredients and threatened to slip Veritaserum into his drink to make him confess.
- Igor Karkaroff came into the classroom to speak to Snape about the return of his Dark Mark (GF27).
