UnknowableWiki:Disambiguation
From UnknowableWiki
Wikipedia has extensive guidelines regarding disambiguation, but a similar policy is unnecessary here. When the same article title can be used for two entirely different pages, do the following:
- Add a descriptive word to the title of the least useful article (the one a regular user would search for the least) that can show what the difference is between them, e.g. Harry Potter (the character) and Harry Potter (series).
- Add a small paragraph like this:
- This article is about Harry Potter (character). Were you looking for Harry Potter (series)?
- ::::''This article is about '''Harry Potter (character)'''. Were you looking for [[Harry Potter (series)]]?''
- to the top of the article that doesn't have the explanatory brackets.
