Transfiguration Today

Transfiguration Today is a magazine or newspaper that venerable-looking wizards often discuss in the Leaky Cauldron (PA3). It is a learned publication of considerable standing in the wizarding world; Albus Dumbledore has papers published in it as a young man (DH2); he still reads the periodical years later. He does so, for instance, when Severus Snape goes to his office to complain about first-year Harry Potter (DH33).

After a paper of Dumbledore's concerning Trans-Species Transfiguration published in Transfiguration Today while he is still a Hogwarts student, Bathilda Bagshot sends him an owl, and they begin corresponding. This enables Bathilda to have a longstanding friendship with the Dumbledores (DH18).
