Time-Turners are magical objects strictly controled by the Ministry of Magic. They allow the user to come back in time.

Hermione Granger was using a Time-Turner during her third year at Hogwarts in order to be able to do all the subjects she had applied to (PA5, PA21). She and Harry Potter later use it to save Buckbeak and Sirius Black. Later she returns the Time-Turner to Professor Minerva McGonagall (PA21).

The Ministry's entire stock of Time-Turners was destroyed during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries (HBP11).
