The Shoebox Project (often abbreviated to 'SBP') is a Remus/Sirius fic hosted at LiveJournal. It is considered by many WolfStar shippers as the 'Bible' of the pairing. Many Harry Potter fans who aren't especially fond of slash, or even of Marauder-era fanfiction, enjoy the fic.

Cult following

There are several LiveJournal communities dedicated to Shoebox fanart, spin-off fics, icons and others. One of the most popular ones is Cult_SBP.

Many of the most obsessed fanatics believe Shoebox is its own canon—in a way, somewhat independent from the Harry Potter books. Some of the fic's characterisations, such as that of Gideon and Fabian Prewett, have become fanon classics.

The authors have even recieved e-mails from parents telling them how they read installments of the Shoebox Project to their children, along with the Harry Potter books, "because it teaches lessons of tolerance" [1].
