From UnknowableWiki
The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a book, originally written in runes, which contains all the stories written by Beedle the Bard, to whom most wizarding children's stories are attributed. The stories in The Tales of Beedle the Bard include "The Fountain of Fair Fortune", "The Wizard and the Hopping Pot", "Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump", and "The Tale of the Three Brothers" (DH7, DH21).
J. K. Rowling wrote a real-life copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, including one story not mentioned in the books: The Warlock's Hairy Heart. There are seven copies of this book, one of which was auctioned for charity and bought by Amazon.com [1].
On July 31, 2008, it was announced that The Tales of Beedle the Bard would be published and sold to the general public; the release date was set for December 4, 2008.
