Suethors

Suethors is the common name given to a fanfiction author who writes blatant badfic. A Suethor is typically of a younger age (though this is not always the case), often in the pre-teen stages of growth, with a poor grasp on written language besides their native netspeak.

Suethors are usually mocked in fandom, much to their bewilderment; many are under the impression that they have incredible, unparalleled talent. Suethors will sometimes have an army of sockpuppets, with which they attack when feeling underappreciated. Most Suethors are usually found on fanfiction.net.

Suethors often start out as inexperienced, young writers searching for fame, fortune and praise on the fringes of the fanfiction realm. Eventually, if they are lucky, they can grow to be mature and practical writers, with the correct help and the will to improve their own writing. Most of the time, though, they often ruthlessly defend the sordid state of their fic, upon the delusion that what they have written is amazing and wonderful (many times due to their hordes of blind, tasteless fans and reviewers) and brush aside gentle prods (i.e. constructive criticism, and/or flames) to help them with their stories in favor of squeeing, ego-stroking reviews. A common defense for a Suethor is to claim that his or her opponent is "just jealous" of the work in question.

The name Suethor originated from the term Mary Sue, a common element in most fics written by them. Many of these Mary Sues have shown up on sporking communities on Livejournal such as Deleterius, Mary_Sues, and Pottersues. It is not unusual for the Suethor to show up on these communities with legions of sockpuppets and a thirst for vengeance.
