The spell to force an Animagus to transform is a non-verbal spell that makes a transformed Animagus change back into his human state. The correct name of the spell is unknown. To perform the spell, a wizard has to point his wand at the Animagus. Blue-white light erupts from the wand and hits the Animagus who seems to freeze for a second before there is another bright flash of light and the Animagus morphs back into his human form. If the spell is aimed at a real animal, it does no harm.
Sirius Black and Remus Lupin perform this spell on their former friend and traitor Peter Pettigrew in the Shrieking Shack at the end of the school year in 1994 (PA19).
