Side-Along-Apparition is a type of Apparition that allows underage wizards or those that do not know how to or are otherwise unable to Apparate to do so, with the help of a qualified wizard.

Dumbledore Side-Along-Apparates with Harry Potter before the boy learns to do it on his own (HBP4). Later that year, his fellow sixth-years (notably Ron, Neville, Seamus and Dean, during Charms) ask him what it felt like; he says it is uncomfortable and thinks of it as a feeling akin to squeezing into a thin rubber tube. The other students are not put off by his impressions (HBP17).

After drinking a poisonous potion in the Cave, Dumbledore is greatly weakened and unable to Apparate; Harry Side-Along-Apparates with him to Hogsmeade (HBP27).

The following summer, Moody plans to take Harry away from number four, Privet Drive with the use of Side-Along-Apparition (DH3). The fact that Pius Thicknesse has outlawed Apparition to and from the house, however, makes that plan impossible, forcing Order members to take Harry away flying in the open (DH4).

Hermione Side-Along-Apparates with Ron and Harry after Bill and Fleur's wedding, instinctively taking them to the first place she can think of: the Muggle street of Tottenham Court Road (DH9).
