Roleplaying (often abbreviated to RP) is a common practice in several fandoms. It consists of impersonating canon or fanon characters; groups of roleplayers create their own storyline, which usually doesn't follow canon sources.
The Unknowable Room forums have an area dedicated to MWPP-era roleplaying.
