Practical Defensive Magic and its Use Against the Dark Arts
From UnknowableWiki
Practical Defensive Magic and its Use Against the Dark Arts is a set of books that Sirius and Remus give to Harry for Christmas in 1995. The books are wonderful, and have several excellent colour illustrations of the spells and counterspells it describes. Harry starts skimming the first book as soon as he receives it, and is very excited to receive this as a gift; he and plans to use it to plan his D.A. lessons (OP23).
Before leaving number four, Privet Drive, Harry tears the obituary that Elphias Doge writes about Albus Dumbledore out of the Daily Prophet and stores it in the first volume of Practical Defensive Magic and its Use Against the Dark Arts. Therefore, this is presumably one of the few books that Harry decides to take with him on his quest for Horcruxes (DH2).
