The Peverell family is a very old wizarding family; many wizards are descended from the Peverells (BLC). They were one of the first wizarding families to die out in the male line (DH22).

The Peverell brothers are the creators of the Deathly Hallows. Ignotus Peverell is buried in Godric's Hollow and is a direct ancestor of the Potters, who inherited the Hallow he created—the Invisibility Cloak (DH16, DH35).
