Madame Olympe Maxime is the huge Headmistress of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. She took a delegation from her school to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament (GF15).
The champion chosen for Beauxbatons by the Goblet of Fire was Fleur Delacour (GF16). Madame Maxime used Rubeus Hagrid's infatuation with her in order to obtain information about the First Task, and revealed it to Fleur (GF19).
Their relationship continued despite several hardships, including her reaction—one of offense—to Hagrid's suggestion that she could be, as he is, a half-giant (GF23). The two came to terms with their heritage, however, and were eventually sent to the giants community on Dumbledore's orders, in order to try to persuade the creatures to join the fight against Lord Voldemort (OP20).
Madame Maxime went to Dumbledore's funeral (HBP30).
