Narcissa Malfoy is the wife of Lucius and mother of Draco. She is the daughter of Druella and Cygnus Black, and has two sisters: Bellatrix and Andromeda.

Characteristics
Physical
She is blond, slender and blue-eyed, having inherited the trademark Black good looks (HBP2), though appearance is opposite from that of the dark-haired, heavy-lidded Bellatrix.
Psychological
Narcissa seems to be a loving mother, perhaps to the point of obsession. She buys Draco's wand at Ollivanders before the boy's first year at Hogwarts (PS5) and sends him daily candy packages during the following year (PS8). Later, Draco tells Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle that his father had wanted to send him to Durmstrang, but his mother wouldn't allow her only child to live so far from home (GF11).
Relationship with Bellatrix
Narcissa and Bellatrix are relatively close, but the former's true allegiance is to her immediate family unit and the latter's is to Lord Voldemort (BLC). They refer to one another as Cissy and Bella (HBP2).

Narcissa went with her husband and son to the Top Box at the Quidditch World Cup final (GF9). Harry Potter later taunts Draco that it looks as though his mother had "dung under her nose" (GF13). Draco grows pallid and slightly pink, warning Harry never to insult his mother.
Spinner's End
When Lord Voldemort gives Draco the assignment of mudering Albus Dumbledore, Narcissa goes, along with an unwilling Bellatrix, to Severus Snape's house at Spinner's End. There she pleads with him to take an Unbreakable Vow swearing to protect her son. He complies; in the scene, the two reveal closeness never before seen in the series in regards to Snape. It is safe to assume that they have been friends for many years (HBP2).
The scene also reveals a closeness between Narcissa and her sister, as well as the desperate lengths to which Narcissa would go to protect her son and her family. In the past, Narcissa has been a rather faceless name in the series, but here she takes an active role in protecting what she loves.
