Mrs. Mason is the wife of Mr. Mason, a rich builder and would-be business associate of Vernon Dursley's. She is extremely afraid of birds, and the appearance of an owl sent by the Ministry of Magic caused her to scream like a banshee (CS2); that was the ultimate reason for which Mr. Mason and Vernon Dursley never concluded their business transaction.
