Mr. Evans was the husband of Mrs. Evans and the father of Lily and Petunia. Both parents were delighted when their daughter received her Hogwarts letter (PS4). The couple's death occurred at some point before the Potters' murder (October 31, 1981). J. K. Rowling has stated that the Evanses' death was unrelated to Lord Voldemort (IME).
