Love/hate

Love/hate is a specific type of romance or ship fic in which the two main characters either have alternating feelings of love and hate for each other, or progress gradually from hatred to love. A classic example of the latter sort of love/hate story is Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Love/hate ships often involve a large amount of unresolved sexual tension.
