The Lestrange family is a pure-blood wizarding family. There are four known Lestranges: Lestrange, Sr., the brothers Rabastan and Rodolphus, who are possibly his sons, and Rodolphus' wife Bellatrix, a born Black. At least on Bellatrix' side, the marriage was entered for blood reasons, not out of love (BLC).
Lestrange, Sr. went to school with Lord Voldemort and was probably one of his followers there (HBP17). Rabastan, Rodolphus and Bellatrix are convicted Death Eaters who spent time in Azkaban following the First War for their torture of Aurors Frank and Alice Longbottom (GF30).
All three eventually broke out of the wizard prison (OP25) and took part in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, at the end of which both Rabastan and Rodolphus were put back in Azkaban (OP35, HBP2). They once again escaped from prison in the 1997 Death Eater mass breakout (DH5).
Bellatrix was killed by Molly Weasley in the Battle of Hogwarts (DH36); nothing is known of Rodolphus and Rabastan's fate.
