- Harry receives no letters or gifts from his friends because of Dobby, and Dudley taunts him for it (CS1).
- Dobby visits number four, Privet Drive and causes a pudding to crash onto the kitchen floor [[[CS2]]).
- The Improper Use of Magic Office, believing that Harry had cast a Hover Charm on the pudding, sends him a warning. The owl drops the letter on Mrs. Mason's head and she and her husband leave (CS2).
- 1993
- Harry's thirteenth birthday.
- Harry receives letters and presents from Ron, Hermione and Hagrid; respectively, a Sneakoscope, the Broomstick Servicing Kit and a copy of The Monster Book of Monsters.
- Ron's letter to Harry mentions that the Weasleys won the Daily Prophet Grand Prize Galleon Draw (PA1).
- 1994
- Harry's fourteenth birthday.
- Harry gets four birthday cakes from Ron, Hermione, Sirius and Hagrid, which help him survive Dudley's strict diet (GF3).
- 1995
- Harry's fifteenth birthday.
- Ron and Hermione send Harry two boxes of Honeydukes chocolates; he eventually throws them away, unopened (OP1).
- 1996
- Harry's sixteenth birthday.
- There is a party at the Burrow. Remus interrupts it with news of Dementors attacks, informing also that Igor Karkaroff was found dead (HBP6).
- 1997
- Harry's seventeenth birthday; he can now legally do magic outside Hogwarts.
- During the night, Harry has a dream in which he sees Voldemort looking for Gregorovitch.
- Ginny kisses Harry as a birthday present; they are interrupted by Ron.
- Molly prepares a big party at the Burrow, attended by Hagrid, Remus, Tonks and the Weasleys.
- Rufus Scrimgeour crashes the party. He gives Ron, Hermione and Harry the objects Dumbledore left to them in his will: the Deluminator, a copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard and a Snitch, respectively. Scrimgeour refuses to let Harry have Godric Gryffindor's sword, which was also one of Dumbledore's bequests.
- Mrs. Weasley gives Harry a gold watch that once belonged to Fabian Prewett; Hagrid, a Mokeskin purse. Ron, Hermione and others also give him presents.
- The Trio attempts to make sense out of Dumbledore's bequests. Harry sees the message "I open at the close" on the Snitch (DH7).
