The Inquisitorial Squad was created by Dolores Umbridge (OP28) in order to help Umbridge with the students who were opposed to let the Ministry get over Hogwarts. They told Umbridge what and who they suspected, inspected packages the owls delivered, etc. They could take points from other fellow students if they wished, even from Prefects.
The Inquisitorial Squad were the ones who captured most of the members of Dumbledore's Army under Umbridge's instructions.
The Squad was made of all Slytherin students: Draco Malfoy (who caught Harry), Pansy Parkinson, Goyle, Crabbe, Montague, Millicent Bulstrode, Warrington and a sixth year girl.
