Great Hall

The Great Hall is a large chamber on the ground floor of Hogwarts. It is here that meals are eaten, thrice a day, and declamations tend to be made. It is set up with four long House tables, with a longer top table at one end, where sit the staff. It is lit by thousands of candles that float above the students tables. Many special occasions occur here, for example any feasts, and the annual Sorting (PS7).

The ceiling of the Great Hall is bewitched to imitate the sky (PS7) and various weather patterns have been known to occur, such as fog, wind and lightning.
