Gornuk was a goblin who was overheard by Harry, Ron, and Hermione while they were in hiding on a riverbank in Wales. He is described as having a deeper voice than his goblin companion, Griphook, who was on the run from Voldemort with him, as well as three Muggle-born wizards: Ted Tonks, Dean Thomas, and Dirk Cresswell. Gornuk told the wizards that he went into hiding after he refused to perform "duties ill-befitting the dignity of [his] race." (DH15)

In March 1998, Potterwatch announced that Gornuk, together with Ted Tonks and Cresswell, had been murdered (DH22).
