Gabrielle Delacour is Fleur's sister. She is approximately eight years her junior. She has silvery blonde hair and deep blue eyes (GF26). Like Fleur, she is part-Veela.
Gabrielle was Fleur's hostage for the second task of the Triwizard Tournament. This implies that Gabrielle is the person for whom Fleur cares the most (GF25). She was put into an enchanted sleep by Albus Dumbledore and taken to the bottom of the Great Lake where Merpeople watched over her, from which Fleur had to rescue her (GF26). However, Fleur was unable to do it, so Harry Potter rescued her, along with his own hostage Ron Weasley, wrongly believing that if he left her down there, she would drown (GF26). According to Fleur, Gabrielle speaks very highly of Harry ever since (HBP5).
