Flames

Flames are bad reviews that don't help the author improve his or her writing. They are almost always highly depreciative, sometimes even cursing the author and the story. Flames generally serve no purpose except to incite the Suethors to action, and compel them to summon hordes of angry fangirls or sockpuppets against the flamer. Sometimes, trolls flame an author to bait them into wanking.

It is recommended that a reviewer give constructive criticism instead. Constructive criticism is highly beneficial to a writer and plays a vital role in helping the author to improve his or her work.
