Dugald McClivert was the chief of the McClivert clan of the Isle of Drear. Legend has it that a drunken duel between him and Quintius MacBoon led to Dugald's death. The McCliverts retaliated by surrounding the MacBoons' dwellings and Transfiguring the entire clan into vicious five-legged creatures with a peculiar liking for human flesh. The creatures resisted all attempts to reverse the Transfiguration, and murdered all the McCliverts in the island (FBAZ).
