Dr. Ubbly's Oblivious Unction is used to heal wounds left by thoughts, which, according to Madam Pomfrey, can cause deeper injuries than most anything else.

Madam Pomfrey uses Ubbly's Oblivious Unction to treat the welts left on Ron's forearms from where the brain from the Department of Mysteries had wrapped its tentacles around him (OP38).
