Category:Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures
From UnknowableWiki
The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is the division of the Ministry of Magic responsible for the regulation, supervision and care of magical creatures in Britain. It is the second largest Ministry department, only surpassed in size by the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. One of the main tasks of the department is to hide the existence of magical creatures from Muggle notice.
Since 1811, the department consists of three divisions: the Being Division responsible for all magical beings, meaning those cratures that have been deemed worthy of legal rights and a voice in the governance of the magical community, the Beast Division, which deals with all magical beasts, and the Spirit Division that has been established by request of the British ghosts, who refuse to be labeled as 'beings' and insist they are 'has-beens' (FBAZ).
The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures is located on level four in the Ministry building (OP7).
