Character:Dedalus Diggle

Dedalus Diggle is an easily excitable member of the Order of the Phoenix; he is tiny, and his violet top hat often falls off when he is overjoyed. When Minerva McGonagall heard of shooting stars in Kent following Lord Voldemort's disappearance, she attributed them to Diggle, who, according to her, "never had much sense" (PS1).

He once bowed to Harry Potter in public before the boy was informed of the existence of the wizarding world (PS2). When the boy first entered the Leaky Cauldron and showed that he remembered that meeting, Dedalus was immensely pleased (PS5).

Diggle was part of the Advance Guard that rescued Harry from the Dursleys' (OP3). He was in the photograph Alastor Moody showed to Harry depicting the Order members at the time of the First War (OP9).

His house was burnt down when Voldemort took over the Ministry of Magic and Death Eaters attacked Order-related houses throughout the country on August 1, 1997 (DH11).
