The Daily Prophet Grand Prize Galleon Draw is a yearly draw sponsored by the Daily Prophet; the prize is seven hundred galleons. Arthur Weasley won the Grand Prize in the summer of 1993, and took his family to Egypt in order to visit Bill, who was working there as a Curse-Breaker. This was reported in the Prophet; Ron sent a clipping of the article to Harry in a letter (PA1).

Sirius Black also saw a copy of the newspaper—he borrowed it from Fudge—and it included a photograph of the Weasleys. He recognised Scabbers on Ron's shoulder, and became obsessed with the idea of protecting Harry from Peter Pettigrew and of murdering Peter. Sirius escaped from Azkaban in order to do so (PA19).
