Colin Creevey was a Muggle-born wizard who attended Hogwarts and was Sorted into Gryffindor (CS5). He was a year younger than Harry Potter, whom he idolised (CS6). He was Petrified by the Basilisk in his first year at school (CS10). Together with his brother Dennis, he joined Dumbledore's Army (OP16). Colin died in the Battle of Hogwarts (DH34).

Characteristics and Family
Colin was a very short boy with mousy hair (CS5). He was easily excitable, enthusiastic and delighted by the fact that he was a wizard. He was seldom seen without his camera. He was a great admirer of Harry Potter.
Colin got along very well with his little brother Dennis, who resembled him both in looks and character (GF12). His parents are both Muggles. It seems that his father, a milkman, was supportive of Colin, who sent him lots of pictures to show him all about the wizarding world in his first year (CS6).
Hogwarts
Colin was very excited to attend Hogwarts. He spent a good deal of his time following Harry and taking pictures (CS6). After the Quidditch match of Gryffindor against Slytherin, Colin tried to visit Harry in the hospital wing. On his way there, he ran into the Basilisk that haunted the school. He saw the monster through his camera lens, which protected him against its gaze; instead of dying, he was merely Petrified (CS10). Along with the other victims, Colin was revived with the Mandrake Restorative Draught at the end of the school year (CS18).
He was joined by his brother Dennis in his third year, who also became a Gryffindor. The two brothers were often seen together (GF18, GF19, OP11, HBP14). Both of them joined Dumbledore's Army in 1995 (OP16, OP18).
Colin was unable to attend his sixth year at Hogwarts because of the anti-Muggle-born restrictions imposed by the Ministry. He returned to the castle via the Room of Requirement with other members of Dumbledore's Army to help with the final struggle against Voldemort (BLC).
During the Battle of Hogwarts, Minerva McGonagall forbade Colin from staying in the castle, for he was underage (DH31). Disregarding this, he stayed behind and took part in the Battle. Creevey was killed. Oliver Wood and Neville Longbottom carried his body into the Great Hall (DH34).
