Janus Thickey Ward, also referred to as ward forty-nine, is a closed ward in the Spell Damage department of St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. This ward houses long-term hospital residents who have suffered permanent spell damage, among which Gilderoy Lockhart and Agnes. The door to the ward is kept closed; it can be opened with Alohomora (OP23). Its patients presumably have no access to wands.
Miriam Strout is the Healer in charge of the Janus Thickey Ward until she is suspended on full pay due to Broderick Bode's death (OP25).
