Cleansweep Five

The Cleansweep Five is a broomstick model manufactured by the Cleansweep Broom Company. It dates presumably from the 1950s.

Gwendolyn Morgan, Captain of the Holyhead Harpies, flies a Cleansweep Five at the time of the 1953 seven-day match against the Heidelberg Harriers. She beats the Harriers Captain Rudolf Brand over the head with it when he proposes to her after the match (QA7).

Fred and George Weasley own old Cleansweep Fives, for which they are mocked by Draco Malfoy after the latter's father gives the whole Slytherin Quidditch team brand new Nimbus Two Thousand and Ones in September 1992 (CS7). The twin's brooms are confiscated by Dolores Umbridge in 1995 (OP19). The two broomsticks smash a hole through Umbridge's office door when their owners Summon them (OP30) to exit the school in triumph, much to Umbridge's fury (OP29).
