Clabberts are magical creatures which dwell in trees. They originate from the southern states of America, but have been exported worldwide. They resemble a cross between a monkey and a frog, with smooth, hairless mottled green skin, webbed hands and feet and long, supple arms and legs on which it vathey can swing between branches. They have short horns on their heads, a wide, grinning mouth full of razor-sharp teeth and a large pustule on their forehead which will flash scarlet whenever the Clabbert senses danger. Clabberts feed on small lizards and birds.
American wizards used to keep Clabberts in their gardens to warn them of approaching Muggles. However, this practice was declared illegal by the International Confederation of Wizards and is now heavily fined because the glowing pustules attracted too much suspicion by Muggles, who wondered why their neighbours kept Christmas lights in their garden year-round (FBAZ).
