Character:Charity Burbage
From UnknowableWiki
Charity Burbage was the Muggle Studies professor at Hogwarts (DH1), later succeded by Alecto Carrow (DH12).
Voldemort considered her "[teaching] the children of witches and wizards (...) [how Muggles] are not so different from [them]" a nuisance (DH1).
In the beginning of July, 1997, the Daily Prophet reported Burbage's resignation (DH2). However, the circumstances of her departure from Hogwarts are unknown, for she was at some point captured by Death Eaters after writing an article for the aforementioned newspaper. According to Voldemort, Charity defended the Muggle-borns in the article, and stated that "the dwindling of the pure-bloods (...) [was] a most desirable circumstance" (DH1).
While imprisioned at the Malfoy Manor, somewhere in mid-July, Charity was magically kept up-side-down for a long period of time, and later murdered by the use of the Killing Curse, most likely cast by Voldemort himself (DH1).
On July 29, 1997, Arthur Weasley mentioned, over dinner at The Burrow, that he did not believe Charity Burbage had resigned, and that she had not been seen for weeks (DH6).
