Character:Wilkie Twycross

Wilkie Twycross is the Ministry of Magic Apparition instructor. He is described as a a colourless wizard, with transparent eyelashes and wispy hair. He teaches Apparition using the three Ds: destination, determination, and deliberation. He quickly became unpopular among the students of Hogwarts because he didn't really teach them adequately, and simply expected them to focus on the destination and Apparate there. His three Ds inspired a load of very unpleasant nicknames for him, the politest of which were apparently "Dog-breath" and "Dung-head". According to Ron, Wilkie was deeply impressed by Hermione, who, of course, grasped Apparition quickly in comparison to others (HBP18).
