Character:Rowena Ravenclaw

Rowena Ravenclaw was one of the Founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She is the namesake of Ravenclaw house and prized intelligence above all else (FW).

According to the Sorting Hat, Rowena came "from glen", which has led many fans to believe that he meant somewhere in Scotland (GF12).

Rowena was the Wizard of the Month for August of 2007 on jkrowling.com, where it was revealed that she may have died early due to a broken heart, according to legend (WM).

In fanon, she is often paired with Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor and/or Helga Hufflepuff.
