Moran is a Quidditch player from Ireland. She played the position of Chaser for the Irish National Quidditch Team during the 1994 Quidditch World Cup.
Moran was the fifth Irish player to enter the stadium, followed by Beater Quigley and Seeker Aidan Lynch. Like the rest of the team, she rode a Firebolt and wore a green uniform with her name embroidered in silver on her back.
According to Harry Potter, who was watching the game, the Irish Chasers were superb, and extremely well-coordinated. He supported Ireland, and had a rosette on his chest that squeaked the three players' names.
The first move of the game was a pass from Mullet to Troy, who threw the Quaffle to Moran; Dimitrov got in the way of the next pass, but Mullet prevented him from throwing the ball to a team mate and passed it on to Troy. Levski got in the way of his throw as well, but Moran rescued the Quaffle back to the Irish team.
Later in the match, the Irish Chasers performed a Hawkshead Attacking Formation, with Troy in the centre, slightly ahead of Mullet and Moran. They also conducted a Porskoff Ploy; Troy flew sharply upwards, drawing away the Bulgarian Chaser Ivanova and dropping the Quaffle to Moran.
Minutes later, Beater Volkov sent a Bludger in Moran's direction soon afterwards; she was forced to duck to avoid it and dropped the Quaffle; Levski caught it.
Soon afterwards, Troy scored the first Irish goal, and did a lap of honour around the stadium to celebrate. The leprechauns rejoiced, and regrouped to form a large, sparkling shamrock. In the following ten minutes, Ireland scored twice more. The game grew tenser; the Bulgarian Beaters, Volkov and Vulchanov, had Bludgers constantly ruining the Irish Chasers' moves and forcing them to disperse.
After Viktor Krum's perfectly executed Wronski Feint, the Irish Seeker Aidan Lynch was extremely shaken. When he was well enough to get kicked off from the ground, the Irish team seemed to get renewed vigour. The three Chasers, in particular, played very skillfully. After fifteen minutes, they scored ten more goals.
When Volkov and Vulkanov's argument with the referee caused two penalties to be awarded to Ireland, Troy was the first to take the Quaffle. Later on, Ireland was awarded yet another penalty, when Dimitrov flew straight at Moran, seeking to unbalance her; she almost fell off her broom. After the whistle, Troy passed the Quaffle to Mullet; Ivanova caught it next, but Moran recovered the ball and scored Ireland's final goal.
The leprechauns watching the match had formed a hand that gave the Bulgarian supporters the finger. The Veela lost control and started throwing fire at their opponents. Ministry wizards were forced to interfere to try to keep the peace, with little success.
Moments later, Viktor Krum caught the Snitch and ended the match. The Irish team danced joyously under a shower of golden leprechaun coins. Their supporters cheered wildly, and the Irish national anthem was played. The team did a lap of honour around the stadium, flanked by leprechauns.
Meanwhile, the World Cup was taken to the Top Box. The seven Bulgarian players followed, and shook hands with the Bulgarian Minister for Magic and with Cornelius Fudge. The Irish team arrived at the Top Box soon afterwards; Aidan Lynch, still very shaken after his collision, was supported by Moran and Connolly. Troy and Quigley lifted the Cup high, and the crowd cheered. After this, the Irish team performed another lap of honour on their broomsticks (GF8).
