Modesty Rabnott was a witch who lived in the thirteenth century. In 1269, at the Quidditch game where Barberus Bragge first introduced the Golden Snidget to the sport, Rabnott was infuriated by the use of Snidget-hunting. She Summoned the bird to her when it came near her, stuffed it down her robes, and fled. She was caught, but not before she had freed the Snidget, and fined 10 Galleons. Unable to pay the money, she lost her house and moved to live with her sister Prudence in Aberdeen.

Rabnott described the above incident in a letter to Prudence that is now on display in the Museum of Quidditch (QA4).
