Loxias was one of the possessors of the Elder Wand; he took the wand from Barnabas Deverill, whom he murdered. For many Hallows Questers, the trail of the Elder Wand ends with Loxias, as the identity of his killer (and, therefore, the subsequent owner of the wand) is uncertain—many claimed to have killed him, including Arcus, Livius (DH21) and Loxias' own mother (BB5).
