Character:Kendra Dumbledore

Kendra Dumbledore was the wife of Percival Dumbledore and the mother of Albus, Aberforth and Ariana Dumbledore (DH2). She was a Muggle-born; according to Muriel, she was a terrifying woman and tried to hide her blood status. Elphias Doge disagreed, and was of the opinion that Kendra was a fine woman (DH8).

Kendra often read bedtime stories to her children when they were young. Unlike some wizarding mothers, she did not refrain from telling them the story of The Warlock's Hairy Heart—by far the most terrifying of Beedle the Bard's tales; Albus still remembered her version of the story many years later (BB3). His favourite of Beedle's was The Tale of the Three Brothers; he often wished to hear it again, which was the cause of several arguments between him and Aberforth—whose favourite tale was Grumble the Grubby Goat (BB5).

At the time of her death, her only friend in Godric's Hollow was Bathilda Bagshot (DH18).
