John Dawlish is an Auror (PC). When Marietta Edgecombe snitched on the D.A. to Umbridge, he went with Fudge, Kingsley Shacklebolt and Percy Weasley to Hogwarts. Albus Dumbledore attacked them all in order to flee from the school (OP27).

In the following year, Dawlish was stationed at Hogsmeade to help increase school security (HBP8).
