Godric Gryffindor's Famous Wizard card.

Godric Gryffindor is one of the four Hogwarts Founders, and gave his name to one of the four houses (FW). He believed that only the ones who proved themselves to be magical enough should attend to Hogwarts. Although it is known that he used to be a good friend with Slytherin, after the school was built, they had a fight and Slytherin left the school.

He was the most notable dueler in his time, and a proud fighter against Muggle discrimation (WM).

The Sorting Hat originally belonged to him, as well as the sword, which was last seen in Dumbledore's office. The Hat stated that Gryffindor came "from wild moor," which has led many fans to think that it referred to South West England (GF12).

Gryffindor was born in the village of Godric's Hollow, which is named after him (DH16).

Godric didn't steal his sword from the goblins as Griphook claims; it was originally his (BLC).
