Character:Gertie Keddle

Gertie Keddle is a witch who lived on the edge of Queerditch Marsh in the eleventh century. Her journal is a precious record, now stored in the Museum of Quidditch, of an early version of what was to become the most popular sport in wizarding Britain.

Oddly enough, all entries on Keddle's journal are said to be written on Tuesday. Possibly, she was not very literate—the journal itself is written in badly spelled Saxon. Several of the entries express her annoyance at wizards who lived across the marsh and played a certain "stupid game on their broomsticks".

She had a friend called Gwenog, who invited her for tea one windy "Tuesday" and ended up confessing that she, too, often played the game. Keddle, according to her journal, was disgusted (QA3).
