Emmeline was part of the Advance Guard that rescued Harry Potter from number four, Privet Drive in the summer of 1995; the group escorted him to number twelve, Grimmauld Place (OP3).
She was killed in the Second War, during the summer of 1996. Emmeline lived around the corner from 10 Downing Street, and the British newspapers criticised the Prime Minister for the lawlessness rampant in the country—which had affected even his own neighbourhood (HBP1).
The following year, Severus Snape bragged to Bellatrix Lestrange that the information he had given to Lord Voldemort had led to the capture and murder of Emmeline Vance (HBP2).
