Eileen Snape (née Prince) was the pure-blood wife of Tobias Snape, a Muggle, and mother of Severus Snape. She was skinny, and looked both cross and sullen, with heavy brows and a pallid face.

Hermione Granger first suspected her to be the Half-Blood Prince when she found a picture of Eileen in an old edition of the Daily Prophet as captain of the Hogwarts Gobstones Team (HBP25).
