Character:Bozo

Bozo is a paunchy man who works as a photographer for Rita Skeeter. He accompanied her to the wand weighing ceremony that preceded the Triwizard Tournament, holding a big, black camera that smoked slightly.

When Harry first saw Bozo, the man was standing in a corner of the room, watching Fleur. Ollivander carried out the wand-weighing, and Dumbledore instructed the champions to go to dinner. However, before they could obey, Bozo jumped up and cleared his throat, causing Ludo Bagman to acknowledge the need for a photo shoot.

Bozo took pictures of the judges and the champions, and individual shots of Harry, Fleur, Cedric and Krum. It was difficult to fit Olympe Maxime into the frame, and it was eventually decided that she would sit while everyone stood, surrounding her. Karkaroff was constantly twirling his goatee; Krum was sulking in the background. Bozo wanted Fleur to be prominently featured in the group photographs, but Rita constantly interfered and brought Harry forward (GF18).

Harry and Hermione saw Skeeter and Bozo in Hogsmeade, outside the Three Broomsticks, shortly before the first task of the Tournament. Hermione guessed that Skeeter was staying in the village to watch the first task (GF19).

Halfway through January, the Trio saw Skeeter and Bozo in the Three Broomsticks. She bought drinks for both of them, and was commenting on a run-in with Ludo Bagman—who had been surrounded by goblins, and claimed that he was showing them the sights—that the pair had just had. Bagman had not been willing to talk to the two journalists. Skeeter came up with the beginning of a sentence ("Disgraced Ex-Head of Magical Games and Sports, Ludo Bagman...") and thought of finding a story to fit it (GF24).
