William Arthur (Bill) Weasley is Arthur and Molly's oldest son. He works in Gringotts as a Curse-Breaker, is a member of the Order of the Phoenix, and is married to Fleur Delacour.

Characteristics
Bill is from the tall and slim variation of the Weasley family, as are his brothers Percy and Ron. Like the whole family, he has bright red hair that he wears in a ponytail (GF5). Bill also has a fang earring, and is very handsome, although he was attacked by Fenrir Greyback in the Battle of Hogwarts. Madam Pomfrey states that probably the wounds will never heal completely (HBP29).
Bill is charming and very well-mannered. He usually wears muggle-styled clothes, allowing him to blend in outside the wizarding world. He's also pretty intelligent, as evidenced by his Hogwarts career.
Childhood and Hogwarts
Before he was old enough to attend Hogwarts, Bill was home-schooled by his mother, along with his younger siblings. He was sorted into Gryffindor (PS6), and became a Prefect in his fifth year (OP9). He achieved twelve OWLs (CS4), including Arithmancy, and was made Head Boy on his final year at school (PS6).
While at school, Bill had a Brazilian pen-friend. When his parents said they couldn't afford a exchange trip, she got upset and sent him a cursed hat that made his ears shrivel up (GF7).
Bill graduated in the summer of 1989.
Adult life
Bill got a job at the Gringotts Wizarding Bank, and was stationed in Africa (PS6) breaking into ancient Egyptian wizarding tombs. His family visited him in Egypt after Arthur won the Daily Prophet Grand Prize Galleon Draw (PA1).
Bill attended the Quidditch World Cup with his family, Harry and Hermione (GF5). When the Death Eaters started to attack the muggles that took care of the camp, he left with his father and his brothers Percy and Charlie to help Ministry wizards (GF9). He helped his mother when she took his younger sibilings to the Hogwarts Express, and showed a great deal of enthusiasm about the upcoming Triwizard Tournament (GF11). Bill and Molly were the ones to come to the third task and show their support to Harry, where Fleur first noticed him (GF31). On the same night, he ran to contact his father and warned him the incidents on Little Hangleton's cemetery(GF36).
After Voldemort's re-birth, he asked to be transfered from his position in the field to a desk job in England (OP4), so he could help the Order of the Phoenix. On his first night at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, Harry met Bill in the kitchen, after the Order's meeting, trying to get many different parchments together. Tonks almost ruined one of them when she stumbled with a candle, but Molly fixed it before telling him off for letting Harry see them. Bill used Evanesco to vanish the scrolls (OP5).
While the Ministry denied Voldemort's return, Bill tried to warn the goblins about it, but he wasn't sure whether they believed him or not. He said they, the goblins, could take sides if a war came up. He was particularly persuading one of the goblins that worked with him, Ragnok, but lamented about his friend's lack of sympathy for wizards at that moment, after the goblins had been fooled by Ludo Bagman (OP5).
He started giving Fleur — his new co-worker at London's branch of Gringotts — "Eeeenglish lessons", which led to a romantic relationship. After a year, they decided to get married, so he took his fiancée to The Burrow so she could get to know his family (HBP5), but his mother and sister weren't much excited with the prospect.
Bill was at Hogwarts in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower when he was savaged by Greyback. The werewolf wasn't transformed, so the after effects of the attack were still unknown, apart from his new found preference for very rare meat. When the Weasleys arrived at the Hospital Wing, Molly started to rant about how he used to be handsome, and how he was going to get married. She believed that now that his face was disfigured, Fleur wouldn't want to marry him anymore. The very idea disgusted the girl; Fleur quickly refuted any suggestion that she would stop loving him and that she was "pretty enough for both of them". She also implied that she was proud of her future husband, saying that his scars would show how brave he is. Bill did not hear the conversation between his mother and future wife, for he was still unconscious (HBP29).
Bill attended Dumbledore's funeral with Fleur to support him while he walked (HBP30).
Trivia
- Ginny is particularly close to Bill, and trusts his judgment (with the exception of everything involving Fleur).
- Ron wore Bill's old robes when he started Hogwarts.
- Bill's daughter in the epilogue is named Victoire, and is in a relationship with Teddy Lupin.
