Character:Belby, Sr.

Mr. Belby is the father of Marcus. He and Damocles do not get along very well; this prevented Marcus from knowing Damocles well, and had the boy lose Horace Slughorn's camaraderie and a place in the Slug Club (HBP7).

It is possible that Mr. Belby is a descendant of Flavius Belby, an 18th century wizard who is famous for surviving a Lethifold attack by using the Patronus Charm (FW, FBAZ).
